Teachers are amazing creatures. In some cases (but Not all), their classroom is an island that can only be reached by traversing shark infested waters. Most visitors are stopped at the door, dealt with coolly and efficently and the inner sanctum of the classroom remains intact.
Some (and this is increasing) are welcoming their peers into the room. They welcome sharing and constructive comments. One of the highlights of last year was a collegue from another independent school came to see us for the day and spent the morning in my class, talk about ICT, integration and teaching in general. He was a primary teacher and his insights were brilliant. He felt comfortable to say"have you tried this....""I have done this this way..." It was also interesting to get a primary perspective.
As I wander into classrooms, in the course of my role I am often confronted with teachers who would like to experiment with ICT, but are held back by lack of experience, actual knowledge of alternatives etc. Hence..... (this is a limited list and obviously there are many we could add in)
