BONNYVILLE (October 19, 2010) - Unofficial election results are in, and Lakeland Catholic School District No. 150 has a new Board of Trustees for the next three years. Official results will be released Friday, October 22nd.
Both Ward 2 (Cold Lake region) and Ward 3 (Waskatenau region) were acclaimed. In the Cold Lake region, all incumbents have returned for another term. They include: Vicky Lefebvre, Mary Anne Penner, and Kelly Henderson. In Waskatenau, Colette Zahar is a new addition to the Lakeland Catholic School Board.
Ward 1, located in Bonnyville region, saw 7 nominees vying for three trustee positions. All three elected trustees are new to the Lakeland Catholic School Board. Finishing top in the polls was Gerald Corbiere with 198 votes, followed by Margaret Borders (161 votes), and Carla Sobolewski (148 votes).
Bernadette Provost, Superintendent for the Lakeland Catholic School District, is looking forward to beginning work with the new Board. “There are a lot of new faces on our Board, bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas to help our District grow. I welcome all trustees, new and returning, to our Lakeland Catholic family.”
New trustees will be sworn in at the first official Board meeting for Lakeland Catholic Schools on November 3rd.
