March 7, 2012
- Review John Stuart Mill (political) and Adam Smith (economic) ideas. The objective is that the student understand how these ideas impacted society in the 19th century.
- As a class the students will do a flow chart on how liberalism impacted society during the Industrial Revolution.
- As a class the students will make a t-chart compare two different perspectives of the industrialists, and the lifestyles of the upper/middle classes to the lower class.
- STudents will work on chapter questions.

- Reviewed the different perspectives of business owners (Robber Barrons or Captains of Industry) during the late 19th century
- Think- Pair - Share: student listed 3 positives about Classical Liberalism and 5 negatives about Classical Liberalism.
- Student completed questions 1-19 in their Chapter 5 questions.

- Students wrote the a paragraph on source one focusing on the essay question "What is the role of the individual in society".

- Watch a documentary film on the rise of socialism (Owen and Marx)
- Student will start working on a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting Classical Liberalism, Democratic Socialism and Marxism.
